Lab Initio
The First Principles AI Engine for Chemical Discovery
Welcome to Lab Initio, the foundational computational engine driving the Institute for Strategic AI (ISA). We build the infrastructure for autonomous scientific discovery. By integrating high-level wavefunction methods and deep-learning DFT with state-of-the-art graph neural networks, we train scientific foundation models purpose-built for chemistry and materials science.
Moving beyond traditional simulation, we deploy these models through an AI-native, autonomous operating model. We connect our predictive and generative AI directly to an ARC-funded self-driving robotic synthesis platform, establishing precision-guided agentic workflows. This autonomous feedback loop designs, tests, and synthesizes new molecules and materials end-to-end without human bottlenecks, dramatically accelerating breakthroughs in renewable energy and applied AI for the physical world.
